Gently I walk upon the Earth is our pipe filling song for Chanumpa ceremonies. The Peace Pipe is a powerful tool for self reflection and it has a mysterious quality. This song came whilst sitting by the river in Lienz offering a pipe for Renata's mother as she was dying, the smoke wafted up stream against the current, this was a good message about the fine old woman returning to the source.
lyrics
Gently I walk upon the Earth (E min)
Gently I walk upon the Earth
Gently I breathe the air
Gently I walk upon the Earth
I know that my prayers are heard.
I fill my pipe with sweet tobacco
I fill my pipe with all my prayers
I fill my pipe with sweet tobacco
I know my prayers are heard.
Gently I walk upon the Earth
Gently I breathe the air
Gently I walk upon the Earth
I know that my prayers are heard.
Instrumental…I know my prayers are heard
Gently I walk upon the Earth
Gently I breathe the air
Gently I walk upon the Earth
I know that my prayers are heard.
Gently I walk upon the Earth
Gently I breathe the air
Gently I walk upon the Earth
I know that my prayers are heard.
I know that my prayers are heard.
I know that my prayers are heard.
